The name of the Project is the Urgent Project for Rehabilitation of Yangon Port and Main Inland Water Transport in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The Client is Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) office of Myanmar and the Contractor is JFE Engineering Corporation. Inland Water Transport (IWT) and Myanma Port Authority (MPA) are performed as the counterparts for the Project. The Projection duration is 270 days (9 months) for the whole work.
JICA and JFE signed the contract on January 31, 2014, and JICA issues a notice to proceed on February 1, 2014. The whole of the Work was completed on October 28, 2014, which was the 270th day from the date of the commencement. The facilities were hand over to IWT and MPA on November 15, 2014.
The major scopes of the Project are two movable steel bridge, concrete coating of two pontoons, porter way, Passenger Terminal Building and Toilet, Revetment & Fence, etc.
