History of NK in Myanmar
In Myanmar, 84MW Baluchaung No.2 Hydro-Electric Power Project in Kayar State as the first overseas project of Nippon Koei providing a full range of engineering services from planning, design, and construction supervision. Built in 1954, it remains as one of the key hydropower plants in the country suppling electricity to millions of people for more than half a century now. The Baluchaung No.2 Hydropower Power stands as a symblolic cooperation between Japan and Myanmar.
Myanmar Koei (MKI) is a joint venture between Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. ( NK ) and Myanmar Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd. ( MEC ) with a paid-up capital of U$ 5 million. Established in April 2013 and registered with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, Myanmar Koei International Ltd. (MKI) is a subsidiary of Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. of Japan.
